  More About Your Language Coach
I'm excited to tell you more about myself; I want to convey my passion for this work!  This is my vocation, my career, my profession! My mission is to provide you with the highest quality services possible.  I want you to leave my program satisfied to the highest degree possible.
  • I have a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, and have been working in this field for thirty years. I have taught ESL and EFL in the U.S., Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, and Mexico.  Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of pronunciation challenges and solutions for people developing their proficiency in English.
  • More recently, I have been working with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean clients in the U.S. and am very familiar with the issues related to mastery of the sound of American English for these speakers.
  • I'm very good at targeting your specific issues and giving you guidance in these areas.  Not everything must be fixed; for a discussion of errors and a ranking of their importance, please read Kinds of Errors.  I'm especially skillful in issues related to the American accent: what makes it difficult to produce, and what makes it difficult to understand.

           Personal Notes

I currently reside in Monterey, California, USA...an inspiring place to be.  I've lived in Tucson, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico, both cultural centers of the American Southwest.  I'm an artist and a linguist, and have kept my hand in the business of teaching ESL/EFL all my life.  I am a very good teacher and trainer, and my expertise has grown exponentially over my career.

You'll find our time together well-spent!

    Customer Testimonials

"Pronunciation practices were very effective to improve my pronunciation!! Her explanation was customized for me. Two things I liked most were Peggy's persistent corrections of my wrong pronunciation [and] her dedicated posture of teaching.  She really passionately taught to me. Her class was exciting and I learned a lot of new things from her."  R.S., Japan

"I was impressed how deeply Peggy was engaged in the preparation of the lessons.  Peggy is...an outstanding specialist in her field. Two things I liked most: I acquired a deeper understanding of the language in every class, and the fact that Peggy was pretty demanding.  She has an exceptional talent as a professional trainer."  S.K., Switzerland

"I've never met a teacher who is more attentive to student's needs than Peggy.  She's always right on point, making right suggestions and corrections, and helping me greatly see where I am and what I should do to address the problem.  Two things I liked most: the full grip of knowledge of the subject that she teaches, and being so open that I could feel free to talk about any subject with the teacher."  E.K., Korea

"She is a treasure for all students."  N.J., China
