Disruptive Innovation: What Makes Radical Teachers so “radical”?

Just like Harvard gurus of business, Radical English teachers may espouse the notion of ‘disruptive innovation’.  Watch this interview about a new take on innovation in the business world, and about planning future work from theories and principles.  Do you find any correlation to your own life and work? If you do, then you definitely are a Radical English teacher.
One of my realizations is that teaching from principles results in much richer, faster, more organized, and more effective teaching and learning than teaching from a publishers’ assortments of what to teach, and when.  If you find yourself wishing for a more organized or systematic way to teach English, you are hungry for guiding theories and principles.  The keys are why to teach and then how to teach.  If you know those, then you are probably already teaching from theory and principle, and very likely you’re a ‘disruptive innovator’, too.  However, if you’re still seeking a better way to teach, a more organized, more effective way to teach, we’d be happy to share what is working well in our worlds!
